The installation is composed of the traces of a simple action: excavating the ground with a shovel, relocating the excavated soil, and piling it up elsewhere.The work originated from an almost instinctive desire to dig a large hole—a gesture that also recalls memories of digging in the garden during childhood. Within the exhibition space, the excavated pit and the mound of displaced soil are presented side by side, revealing the ground, once continuous, as something divided.The exposed cross-section of the excavation reveals differences in soil composition and stratification beneath the surface, making visible that this place has been formed through the accumulation of multiple temporal layers. Meanwhile, the excavated earth is packed into sandbags and stacked as transportable units.Through the reciprocal acts of digging and piling, the ground is presented not as something fixed or immutable, but as a material that can be cut, displaced, and reconfigured.

展示の構成は地面をスコップで掘削し、そこから生じた土を別の位置へと移動させ、積み上げるという単純な行為の痕跡で出来ている。制作の動機には「大きな穴を掘りたい」という衝動のような思いが強くあり、幼少期の庭遊びの記憶とも接続している。会場には掘り下げられた穴と、その周囲に積まれた土が併置され、もともと一続きであった地面が分断された状態として立ち現れる。掘削によって露出した断面には、表層の下にある異なる土質や層が剥き出しとなり、この場所が複数の時間の堆積によって成り立っていることがわかる。一方で、掘り出された土は土嚢袋に収められ、移動可能な単位として積み上げられる。掘ることと盛ることの往復によって、地面は固定されたものではなく、切り取り、移動し、再構成される対象として提示される。
